Castle Tours
A tour of Slane Castle is a glimpse into the fascinating world of the Conyngham family history, packed with swashbucklers and soldiers, clergy and concerts. Meet the Marchioness whose fabled romance with King George IV brought royalty to Slane.
Discover the exciting history of the Castle buildings, the connection with the White House and link to iconic landscape designer Capability Browne.
Regular Castle tours will recommence on the May Bank Holiday Weekend (4th–6th May). The Silver Fox Food Truck will be open for refreshments.  Tours can be booked online.
Mini tours are included in the Afternoon Tea and Tour experience on selected dates. Private guided tours are available all year round and need to be booked in advance. To enquire, contact the Castle directly on events@slanecastle.ie.
PRIVATE EVENTS
Slane Castle is available for private events including corporate and special occasions. It’s surprisingly flexible as a venue suiting everything from small intimate gatherings to large celebrations and events. Afternoon Tea and mini tour
Slane Castle's next Afternoon Tea and Mini Tour experience takes place on Sunday, 14th April. Combining a short, guided tour, with the grand tradition of afternoon tea, this is a delightful way to experience the Castle in a very personal fashion. It begins in the impressive main hallway with fine Doric columns, impressive plasterwork and the Conyngham family coat of arms. Enjoy a glass of Prosecco as you take your seat in the remarkable circular King George IV Ballroom. Afternoon tea is presented on elegant, tiered cake stands and is a perfect balance of savoury and sweet treats. Afterwards their personable tour guide will give an enthralling insight into Slane Castle and its fascinating history, intertwined with that of the Conyngham family, who have lived there since 1703. The Castle is equally famous for 40 years of star-studded rock concerts.
